The head of the West Azerbaijan Art Center said:
“Urmia cinemas were closed once again in order to prevent the spread of the virus until Mehr 18 of this year.”
In an interview with ILNA, Ahad Hooshmand Qarabagh, referring to the onset of coronavirus in the province and city of Urmia, said that cinemas under the auspices of the Arts Center will be closed until Mehr 18.
He added: “Despite observing all hygienic points, including disinfection of the cinema environment and the need to use masks for the audience of cinemas in the province, they are closed until further notice in accordance with the notification of the West Azerbaijan Corona Anti-Corona Headquarters.”
The head of the Arts Center of West Azerbaijan, referring to the financing of cinemas in the country from the sale of cinema tickets, added:
“Unfortunately, since the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country, the Arts Center has suffered a lot of losses in the field of cinema. The first category in cinema screens last month and the lack of reception from cinema audiences to attend movie theaters are the problems that Coronavirus has caused”.
According to ILNA, the city of Urmia currently has three cinemas with four theaters. In this regard, Azadi Cinema in this city has been closed since the dawn of last year to renovate and turn it into a cinema campus.
