In an interview with journalists, Hassan Fathi, director general of East Azerbaijan Taavun, East Azerbaijan Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, said that 21.1 percent of the region’s youth are unemployed:
“Overall, the unemployment rate in the area is 9.8 percent.”
According to Fathi, the unemployment rate in the region is lower than in the country. According to him, the reason for the decline in the unemployment rate is due to the migration of labor from the region:
“Educated citizens of the region make up 18.7 percent of the unemployed. This figure is 16 percent in the country.”
