Said Soltani and Babek Kiumersi were released from the central prison of Tabriz

Azerbaijani political and cultural activists Babek Kiumersi and Said Soltani were released from Tabriz Central Prison on December 3 on bail of 500 million tomans each, pending trial.

It should be noted that Babek Kiumersi was transferred to the custody of the Central Prison of Tabriz on December 1 and Said Soltani 2 after a two-month interrogation at the Information Office.

Azerbaijani activists have been charged with “membership in the country’s opposition societies.” Babek Kiumersi and Said Soltani were detained by security officials in the eastern Azerbaijani city of Julfa on Sunday, October 4.

After arresting the activists, Iranian security officials went to their homes, searched their homes without legal permission, and took their personal belongings with them. His wife was beaten and insulted by security officers during the arrest.
