Yusif Kari, an Azerbaijani political prisoner serving a sentence in the central prison of Ardabil, has been on a hunger strike since the morning of Jan. 13. The reason is that the activist was insulted by the assistant director of the prison, Sepehri.
Yusif Kari stressed the importance of ensuring their rights by holding a hunger strike.
Yusif Kari said in a telephone conversation with his relatives on November 30 that he showed signs of a coronavirus in the Ardabil prison. Despite the widespread coverage of the issue in the Iranian media, the head of the Ardabil Master’s Prisons Office denied the allegations. After that, Yusif Kari was transferred from the 7th to the 1st point of the prison.
