Historical monuments are damaged in the excavations for the Tabriz metro

The historical artifacts and human bones found at the Gulustan Bagi station excavated for the Tabriz metro have been identified as belonging to the first century of the Islamic era.

A spokesman for the East Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts said that a group of specialists went to the excavation site and began research.

Hussein Ismaili said that the artifacts that appeared in the excavations at the western Gulustan metro station date back to the first century of the Islamic era and the beginning of the Qajar period.

Ismaili Atig said that the bones belonged to Man and that part of the excavated area was the site of Gajil Cemetery.
