A fire broke out in the 700-year-old Rabi Rashidi settlement last night. The fire was extinguished by the intervention of Tabriz firefighters.
A spokesman for the Tabriz Fire Center, Siyamak Noruzu, did not say the exact cause of the fire.
Mohammad Bagir Hunarbar, head of the crisis department of the East Azerbaijan region, spoke about the issue.
It should be noted that Rabi Rashidi is a valuable historical building, which is considered to be the oldest modern building in the world. This historical destruction is said to be 700 years old. It is also included in the list of national historical works.
For years, the incorrect protection of this historical site has been criticized by Azerbaijani history lovers. Repeated fires have damaged this historical treasure.
