Azerbaijani national activist sentenced to 6 months in prison and 74 lashes.
Meysam Kolani, who was arrested during protests in Aban in 1998, was convicted in absentia.
The court sentenced the popular activist to six months in prison and 74 absentee strikes.
Ardabil’s court officials on Saturday came to the house of an Azerbaijani activist and told him to go to jail.
Colani was not notified by the court when he received his message.
Recall that Kolani was transferred to Ardabil prison on January 27 in protest against rising gas prices. He was released on bail on March 18.
