Azerbaijani cultural activists have issued a statement on the systematic discrimination against Turks in Iran. The statement said:
“National discrimination and fascism are not limited to non-Persian nations and ethnic peoples,” he said. In addition, trillions of our wealth is ruthlessly and unjustly spent on the development of a national language for them and a foreign and foreign language for us. All this is only a part of the budget allocated for the promotion of the Persian language. Trillions of tomans of our wealth are also spent on the country’s education system, the publication of books and magazines, and the development of the Persian language. The share of Azerbaijani Turkish and other ethnic languages’ languages and cultures in the country’s budget is zero.
In Iran, pro-Persian fascism has turned Persian into a murderous language by unilaterally and unfairly supporting the Persian language and culture. Thus, the language, culture, history and national identity of other nations and ethnic groups are gradually destroyed. Thus, the Iranian government is implementing a plan of cultural genocide. Pahlavi fascist policy, anti-human and chauvinist “Iranianism” dialogue is still going on. Representatives of Azerbaijan and other non-Persian nations in the Iranian parliament do nothing but shout deceptive slogans and praise this oppressive policy.
It should be noted that the state budget was approved by the deputies of Azerbaijan, Kurdistan and other ethnic groups. As a result, our deputies share in this historical oppression against the Azerbaijani people and other non-Persian nations. “
