According to the ANT Channel, eight Azerbaijani activists detained in Ardabil for weeks were still imprisoned, despite a bail of 500 million tomans.
Although 27 days have passed since the Azerbaijani activists’ rally in support of Karabakh, the court still does not provide accurate information to the families of the detained activists.
Concerns have been heightened by the prison’s refusal to release Azerbaijani activists, who were sentenced to 500 years in prison on bail.
Asgar Akbarzadeh, Ali Kheyrju, Murtaza Parvin, Mustafa Parvin, Mehdi Hushmand, Bahman Kheyrju and Meysam Colani have been detained for 27 days and are being held in the Sham Asbi prison between Ardabil and Sarein.
Although the families of the political prisoners went to the Ardabil court on Saturday, the 3rd of Aban, they could not get an exact result. The court’s failure to provide accurate information to the families, saying that the judge of the 10th branch of the court, Babek Nonahal, was on the trail for 4 days, caused an increase in concerns.
Ardabil’s court officials said that the files of Azerbaijani activists were in the hands of Tehran’s intelligence. Earlier, Babek Nonahal arrested Afsana Akbarzadeh, the wife of Ali Kheyrju, the judge of the 10th department, for protesting.
Earlier, Hamed Heydari, Parvin Siyabi Gorjan, Huseyn Balakhani, Sajjad Colani and Mohammad Colani, who were arrested again for supporting Karabakh, were temporarily released from Ardabil prison in exchange for a bail of 500 million tomans.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani activists arrested, especially in Ardabil, were severely tortured, and court officials prevented them from complaining without paying attention to their protests.
