Last year, 791,800 foreigners and stateless persons came to Azerbaijan from 167 countries, 0.5% less than the previous year.
Some 4.6% of them came to Azerbaijan in January, 4.5% in February, 5.7% in March, 5.8% in April, 6.5% in May, 8.5% in June, 10,6% in July, 9.7% in August, 9.4% in September, 11.5% in October, 10.9% in November and 12.3% in December. Of the visitors, 82% were men and 18% were women.
In 2021, 32.6% of the visitors came to Azerbaijan from Russia, 25% from Turkey, 15.8% from Iran, 7.9% from Georgia, 2.2% from Ukraine and the UAE, 1.2% from the UK, 1.1% from Saudi Arabia, 0.9% from Kazakhstan, 0.8% from Israel, 0.7% from Germany, Belarus and India, 0.6% from the USA, 0.5% from Uzbekistan, 0.4% from Italy and Pakistan, 0.3% from Turkmenistan and 6% from other countries.
Compared to 2020, the number of the visitors from Georgia decreased by 66%, from India – 55.3%, from Saudi Arabia – 26%, from Uzbekistan – 20.3%, from Kazakhstan – 18.5%, from Belarus – 5.1%. The number of visitors from the UAE grew by 2.2 times, from Iran – 72.2%, from the USA – 69.3%, from Germany – 67.7%, from Israel – 57%, from the UK – 33.7%, from Italy – 24%, from Turkey – 23,3%, and from Russia – 14.7%.
Throughout the year, the number of arrivals from EU member states increased by 53.8% to 35,400, from the Gulf countries – by 43.7% to 159,000, and from CIS countries – by 8.9% to 297,700.
Some 49.8% of foreigners and stateless persons came to Azerbaijan by rail and road, 48% by air, and 2.2% by sea.
